Crystal Clear Marquis Crystal Long Beaded Dangle Earrings in Silver Filigree Trumpet Cone by FiveLittle Gems

See those? That’s how we’re starting off today’s finds. But these aren’t part of the finds. These earrings are a pair that I have been coveting for quite some time now. Why am I posting them, you ask? Because I’m showing off the work of FiveLittleGems, that’s why. But why?

A. She’s awesome.

B. SHE’S HOSTING A GIVEAWAY! Omigosh. Details of the giveaway can be found here. You know you want to win a pair of her earrings. I do.

bamboo camisole with tie up neckline by sandmaidensleepwear

First in line in part two of the Romantic Wearables series, is this gorgeous cami by sandmaidensleepwear. Not only does it look super super comfortable, but the subtle rippling along the hem gives it just the perfect touch of romance without screaming sexuality. It’s made of bamboo fiber and organic cotton so I can only imagine how soft it must be.

The panties are also available from sandmaidensleepwear, but are sold separately :)

Felted scarf ruffle collar - Pink Rose by galafilc

Lately I’ve been obsessed with this scarf. I’ve featured it in several treasuries and I absolutely could not resist featuring it here. I love ruffles. I love scarves. Galafilc  has created such a great item here, especially with the absolutely gorgeous gradient of pink (should I mention I also love gradients?) and the added detail of two flowers.

Ah, I can imagine how beautiful this would look against a tan cashmere coat. I need to get me one of those.

Deadwood Bloomers by SacredEmpire

If there is one thing that I am determined to have as part of my summer attire, it is these bloomers. SacredEmpire has a really unique style, and it fits exactly what I love PERFECTLY. Also, I like to theme. A lot. My summer attire revolves around black and white stripes, so I go gaga over anything with that pattern. Ask anyone.

These are especially perfect because as the description says, they are pants, shorts, and a skirt all in one! I already have several shoes I have in mind to wear with them. . .

I’ll be saving my pennies! :D

Survival of the Fitted

22 Jan

Today we’re talking survival. It may be the dead of winter, and I might be holed up here in my apartment with 8 mugs of hot cocoa, pajamas, two sweaters, and a fleece blanket, but there are plenty of people in the world that come alive this time of year. The snow sports, the trappers, and teenagers who don’t seem to notice the change in weather at all, not even bothering to don a jacket.

These finds are for them.

Paracord Survival Bracelet - Breast Cancer Awareness by InsideTheBlind

I never though anything of paracord until I met insidetheblind. I had seen the real stuff a couple times going camping when I was a kid, but had no idea that it had so many uses. For those of you who don’t know (and I’m going to copy and paste from Wiki here because I can’t word it much differently),

“The yarns of the core (commonly referred to as “the guts”) can also be removed when finer string is needed, for instance as sewing thread to repair gear, boot laces, or fishing line in a survival situation. The nylon sheath is often used alone, the yarn in the core removed, when a thinner or less elastic cord is needed.”

If you clicked any of those links, you’re probably in wikiland right now. I’ll see you in a couple of years.

Well there you have it. Anyone who ventures into the wilderness should definitely equip themselves with one of these bracelets. This particular bracelet, when unwound, will give you about 8 feet of cord. That’s a lot of survival!

InsideTheBlind also offers custom color combinations and sizes. Talk to her. She’s really nice :)

Bottle of Emergency Matches by 11FACED

In the event that I was stranded in the woods, I’d probably die of starvation. But NOT if I had fitted my keys (let’s assume I didn’t lose them while I was busy getting stranded) with this tiny bottle of emergency matches. Firstly, it’s so darn cute, I think I want it anyway. Second,  11FACED saw fit to attach a starter to the side of the bottle so I wouldn’t have to go searching around for a rock to light it on.

My hypothetical emergency just got a whole lot more convenient. :D

Natural Red Cedar Compass by WoodenTreasures

Lastly, a compass! I don’t think I need to explain to anyone why you would need to have one of these in your adventure, unless you have a magical waterproof, shatterproof GPS that never runs out of battery and always has a signal and will stop talking when you decide to take a shortcut.

If you DO have one of those, congratulations! You have a compass!

I love this compass. WoodenTreasures does such a wonderful job with all of his tree branch compasses it was difficult for me to choose which one to feature. The shape and smoothness of this one in particular was too gorgeous for me NOT to show off, but you really should go take a look at all of them.

That’s all for today! I really do hope to return to this blog. I miss it. :3
