Romantic Wearables Part I

19 Jul

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed the grand opening party. Hope you didn’t drink too much of the punch ;)

This morning I bring to you a collection of wearable items! There are so many great sewers and designers on Etsy that I will be showing off over the course of this blog and I’m very excited about them! I can’t sew clothes so when I see handmade clothes, I go nuts over it!

First up is actually an item from one of my teammies over at ETK, SavoyFaire.

Mermaid Secret Blouse by SavoyFaire

I really can’t love this enough. Nobody quite does a sexy shipwreck the way SavoyFaire does it. I mean, look at it! Doesn’t that top make you want to go sit on a desolate island and wait for your Will Turner? Or maybe scurry around the shoreline chased by an Old English Sheepdog? (Ariel and Scuttle ain’t got nothin’ on this designer)

However you decide to wear this blouse, it’s gorgeous. The contrast of the opaque and translucent coupled with the soft pleats and draping make me want to fall in love all over again–except this time on a pirate ship, possibly being held hostage, yet still managing to keep my hair and makeup intact.

Le sigh, I need to read a romance novel.

Smokin’ Aces! Speaking of romance novels, here’s a pick that will have all the tongues wagging:

Celia Jacket by Lauragalic

The Celia Jacket by Lauragalic was the very first item on Etsy that I absolutely fell in love with for a very big reason. Aside from crafting and designing myself, I am a fiction writer (nothing finished; I’m not that cool) and I adore anything that reminds me of my characters. This jacket and just about everything else in Lauragalic’s shop screamed Marietta Grace. Y’all don’t know her, but to me, this was a huge deal.

Everything about this tells me, “I’m a neo-victorian lady but I dare you to cross me.” Maybe not in so many words, but you get the point. (Though Marietta Grace did leave her fiance waiting at the alter for three days just because she could) This jacket to me conveys romance, feminine power, good breeding, and of course, danger.

Love it, Love it, Love it.

Lastly, a slight addiction of mine, a sweater:

Light Brown Coat by Regel

This coat by Regel reminds me of my mom. As far as sweaters go, we have very similar taste and even though I have no talent for knitting or crochet, my mom is an avid knitter and oftentimes we will go through books together or browse different sites looking at sweaters, shrugs, and scarves that we like.

Again, I love this because of it’s romantic femininity. It’s soft (I imagine in texture as well as visually), quiet, and well put together like a Lady ought to be, but its low neckline and body hugging fit have an oh-so-slightly defiant way about them as if daring to step foot outside of society’s comfort zone.

And there you have it! The first wearable features! I do hope you enjoyed them. Come back soon for more French Onion Finds!
